This is a toshiba program that is needed for the FN keys. This has not caused any problems for me.
I have a Toshiba Qosmio, and it lets you use the FN keys.

it is being used for access to the hot keys on my toshiba satellite notebook
I's for the keys for the notebook
Running Win2K and it has more than once taken over the system and using all resources. System came to a halt. Power off to end the process, you are not allowed to end the task from windows manager. Toshiba should change that part... allow us access to terminate the process when it's running incorrectly.

i got my Toshiba Satellite, it lets you use the hot key. not dangerous at all
