john is correct its a file that monitors hardware temperatures, although the hdd temp is wrong its a fantastic little program for anyone that over clocks, or if you have a realy low end specs that arnt ment for intensive use but you game on them anyways,i have a hp dm1. it has amd radion hd 4224 dedicated onboard graphics so i see no reason not to take full advantage of it, as long as i monitor my temps

"Core Temp creates the sys file in a temporary folder, loads it up and deletes the file from the disc as it is not needed anymore. This is done to make Core Temp function as a standalone application. So this behavior is normal."
