Something keeps switching off my system and atwpkt2.sys showed up in the event list. Not sure if it is the culprit. The microsoft error reporter keeps saying its a driver error. One of the atwpkt2.sys files was in the drivers folder

Windows Defender identifys ATWPKT2.SYS as being of unkown origin. It does seem to be associated with AOL crashes. Neither AVG or Defender removed or restricted the file. I am new to AOL but find it to have connectivity issues.

ATWPKT2.SYS is a driver used by AOL's branded DSL service. It is known by AOL to cause problems with users who have DSL from other providers (or possibly cable, as I do). AOL instructs those users to apply a patch or to rename the file. It appears the patch supplied by AOL deletes the file.

ATWPKT2 seemed to start when I downloaded the latest AOL updat to 9.0. I uninstalled all of my AOL files and because my message said "found new hardware" I just went to the hardware list and deleted it there. I does not show up anymore.
