It's part of Panda's Virus and firewall program. Totally safe.
Panda Antivirus Main Engine
  blender32   (further information)
hogs 100% of my cpu at regular intervals, so everything halts, not
It used 60 to 80 percent of my processor on a compaq proliant server

Sometimes I'll see the file spike up on my processes to high CPU usage, and then proceed to use more and more memory. Once, I watched it go from 20k to 800k in about two minutes, then go back to 20k, and do it all over again.
its part of my panda----ho ever lately its been using 100% resourses and my panda automatic protection has trouble loading
It uses high resources of memory and cpu, therefore the computer slow down
  Leonardo Santos

It's part of the Panda Antivirus, it scan regulary for possible virus threats and uses ususaly 100% of CPU and memory doing so, it's no threat but enoing because it slows down the pc.

This file is not so much dangerous, as it is annoying! Hogs my CPU when I am trying to use other programs. Causes freeze ups.
It is a part of Panda Anti Virus, but its using 100%^of my cpu by PC Startup, after 3 mins its back to normal again
AVENGINE.EXE is a process belonging to the Panda AntiVirus Internet security suite, and is essential for protecting your computer from Internet-bound threats. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

It eats lots of memory and i can't do any proceses like games or smth.

Uses far too much memory :(
It's a huge resource hog I prefer to turn it off and run it manually on a regular basis. It keeps my computer clean that way, and doesn't eat my resources.
Since loanding Panda I am pig running slow. AvEngine.exe is taking about 30% of the processor.

It's part of Panda's Virus but man does it slow your system down!! At startup it totally hogs my system for 4 minutes or more...
An absolutely safe program disappears with Panda uninstall:)
AVENGINE.EXE "Panda AntiVirus Internet security suite"
Part of Panda titanium antivirus: could the file be infected??
nothing is free, not even Panda, so chances are that avengine is spyware...especially since other virus protections see it as a trojan.
Its part of panda

Panda File
Panda antivirus scanning engine. Legitimate process but recently it has been wreaking havoc on our corporate network. Hogs resources on individual PC's and causes problems with paging files and affects performance.
it takes up LOADS of processor space.
Part of Panda; using Process Tamer keeps it from overdoing the CPU usage.
I'm pretty sure It jumps up when updating.

Part of panda, which is fine when you want to be protected. Can really hog up your memory though, so i suggest turning it off when you're not connected to the web.
It's quite a cpu hog and the issue should be looked at and due to the high cpu usage my hardrive crashed (Sad Face)
it takes up at times 80-90 % of my cpu and the panda anti virus doest even work properly!
Panda engine. Not malicious, but get rid of it and get an antivirus solution that's worthwhile.
part of the panda or tesco security suite
  David Oliver
It's a part of Panda. On my Dell Latitude D600, running Windows XP, it takes 60,000 of my memory. Sometimes it spikes to 340,000. It doesn't shut off after you close Panda automatic protection, either.
If you had Norton or Mcafee before then you might have probs with your HDD going mad when you start with Panda installed. Its a known problem, sorted in version 8.

I've got the new version of Panda for 2008, it totally slows my pc down, and I have XP. It was so bad I thought it was a virus!
It's part of panda, but it slows my computer down considerably at times, despite pandas claims to the contrary
This Process is for Panda Anti-Virus
hogs 100% of my cpu at regular intervals, so everything halts,
Completely safe, but an extreme processor hog
Does a great job protecting but is a CPU hog
Part of my Panda AV. But uses up to 60% of my cpu.. quite annoying
Not sure about avengine.exe but when I installed Panda I kept getting regsvr32.exe that kept popping up three times in task manager. Check with AV and anti-malware and neither found it to be bad, however it was using 100% of my CPU and causing annoying slow downs (to the point where things would get stuck every few seconds, start working and then do it again. Got tired of it..uninstalled Panda and replaced with AVG AV..everything works fine now. No more multiple regsvr32.exe running hogging 100% of CPU. So no matter what Panda says- it's AV engine is a resource hog (at least on my system).

Best practices for resolving avengine issues

A clean and tidy computer is the key requirement for avoiding problems with avengine. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using cleanmgr and sfc /scannow, uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using msconfig) and enabling Windows' Automatic Update. Always remember to perform periodic backups, or at least to set restore points.

Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Use the resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even for serious problems, rather than reinstalling Windows, you are better off repairing of your installation or, for Windows 8 and later versions, executing the DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command. This allows you to repair the operating system without losing data.

To help you analyze the avengine.exe process on your computer, the following programs have proven to be helpful: Security Task Manager displays all running Windows tasks, including embedded hidden processes, such as keyboard and browser monitoring or Autostart entries. A unique security risk rating indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware or a Trojan. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware detects and removes sleeping spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard drive.
