To disable 'defaultabho.dll' in Explorer 10, Windows 7, first hit the 'Tools' button on the Explorer tool bar. Then the 'Programs' tab on the window that opens. Then 'Manage Add-Ons' and find the add-on selection, 'Default Tab Browser Helper' and disable it. You'll see the change immediately.

Bill Killgore's instructions did not work for me. This tool could not be disabled in IE 11.0.2 on Win7. The option to disable it is ghosted out.
