All I know is that it is part of the ASUS AI Suite III that I installed with my new motherboard. Everything I've read is people saying it is causing errors, as I have witnessed. I'm going to try it on a clean Windows install and see if that helps. Path to DipAwayMode.exe is: C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AI Suite III\DIP4\DIPAwayMode
Came with AI Suite. Has shown error messages but nothing catastrophic
Seems it has to do with the EPU setting. On my Asus mb I have "performance", "standard" and "Away mode", which I can switch to either one from the desktop. When I end taked the DipAwayMode, it was not available in the EPU choices. It puts the computer to sleep which can be done from elsewhere in Windows.

Summary: Average user rating of DipAwayMode.exe: based on 4 votes with 4 user comments. One user thinks it's probably harmless. 3 users think it's neither essential nor dangerous.
