ERUNT is safe, and effective, I have used it for a long time with XP and I now use Linux so I no longer need it. It should not be on any computer without the owner having downloaded and installed it knowing why he was doing it. If you see it and are not responsible for installing it, open and active in the task manager, it is not ERUNT, but probably a malwhare passing itself as ERUNT. ERUNT is only active everytime you decide to use it to back up your registry to later be able to reset the PC back to that date...that is all it does. Careful to not unwittingly install other suggested software if you download an installer that will install it for you with pre clicked boxes...better get the original ERUNT.exe file It does not install automatically when installing windows OS and should not be found to just accidentally be on your PC. It can be very helpful as a recovery system if one knows how to use it...because viruses can infect your recovery system and reappear after using recovery, but they cannot infect ERUNT. IMHO it's a safer recovery method.
