Sent over MSN as an attachment, then sends to everyone on your list. Doesn't really seem to do much.
Launches a status window for HP officejet products
what did to fix it
Belongs to HP OfficeJet drivers (and maybe others). It has been suggested that the function of this program is to set a HP printer as default at startup. No security risk, but causes a drive not ready error on my system. I removed it using msconfig.
Since I have HP printing hardware/software I am probably seeing normal behavior
The hpotdd01.exe process only seems to have one function. It will set your Hewlett Packard printer to be the default printer every time that your computer starts up. As this can be annoying it is recommended that you locate the hpotdd01.exe file on your computer and rename it to something else (e.g. hpotdd01.exe.disabled) so that it is no longer started.
This file is a genuine HP file so you likely at one point had an HP product installed
Renaming the file will create difficulties when uninstalling, and you might forget... It's much easier to use msconfig, or delete the entry from your startup folder/registry settings.
