My sister-in-law Ann has been having issues since April. The USB connectors would become intermittent, i.e., not working all the time. She had a battery in her Dell inspiron 1501, which came with the computer five years ago when she got it. I took it out at one point when I found the battery didn't work.Later battery seemed to work somewhat. I.E., the machine would run with it, when not plugged in. I put it back in. The battery made it hard to shut the machine off. When I took it out and put it in my inspiron, it caused blue screen and HSX_CNXT.sys finding in MY INSPIRON 1501. Removed it

Yes. My Dell E1505 Blue screens every once and a while. I thought It was overheating but then I saw the HSX_CNXT.SYS in the error log. Maybe disabling the Modem will help. I have yet to find a solution. Ran virus scan, malwarebytes, and every otther scan I could think of. I may reformat and reinstall Windows 7.
