What is IAAnotif.exe?

The genuine IAAnotif.exe file is a software component of Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (RST) by Intel Corporation.
The name “IAANotif.exe” for the Intel® Storage Event Notifier reflects the earliest term (Intel® Application Accelerator) used for what is now Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (RST), a firmware-based implementation of RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks). The Notifier is registered as an auto-run task in both the “current user” (HKCU) and “all users” (HKLM) registries. Uninstalling it would require uninstalling Intel® RST, which is not advised if RAID is in use as data could be lost. It is also essential if RAID 1 “mirroring” is in use to notify the user if a RAID 1 volume fails. Notifications are issued via the system tray icon for RST.

IAANotif stands for Intel® Application Accelerator Storage Event Notifier
