What is incdrm?

The genuine incdrm.sys file is a software component of Nero InCD Reader by Nero.
InCDRm.sys is a filter driver that belongs to the Nero InCD Reader, a program that allows optical discs written in the MRW (Mount Rainier format) to be read on systems that do not natively support MRW. A filter driver is a software program that adds functionality to peripheral devices. It can even add support for a specialized device in the computer. This is a critical component for the Nero InCD Reader and should not be directly removed. The Nero InCD packet writing software was created to allow optical discs to be written like floppy disks. Files can be dragged and dropped to and from the disk through the Windows Explorer. The software was based on the MRW (Mount Rainier format). The InCD Reader was developed to allow systems that did not already support this format to be able to read MRW discs. Nero is a German software developer best known for their flagship disc burning software program, the Nero Suite. Richard Lesser founded the company in 1995 as Ahead Software GmbH but the company changed their name to Nero in 2005. Nero became quite popular after many OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) decided to bundle the suite with their hardware products. Nero is headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany.

It has prevented my Disk Drive from being able to write discs, and every time I insert a DVD, my computer will showa blue error screen saying INCDRM.SYS caused the error and has attempted to access to much memory causing the computer to shutdown. I do not know if my computer system needs this .sys file, so I have been cautious as to deleting it.
