Permanent reporting to Logitech ! When my webcam is off , still running 3 processes in background from logitech ! Lexmark do the same thing ! Shame on you LOGITECH / LEXMARK
Neutral because the LVCOMSX.EXE gives when close the PC an unusual noise. gives when close the computer an unusual noise, something as "DONK." I open the task manager and close (stop) the process LVCOMSX.EXE. I search long for this problem, the time that I not know what the problem was had I without success contact with Logitech. I found this very strange, but it is possible that there was no solution for. Anyway, it is no problem to blok the process but only when you close the pc.

It comes bundles with the logiteck QuickCam driver.
"It provides extra functionality for Logitech multimedia webcam devices. It is non-essential to the running of the system."

if switched off, camera controll field settings are greyed out/don't work, evth. else still works
Very suspect! My PC has nothing running at startup except firewall. Today while browsing "My Computer", I accidentally clicked "My Logitech Pictures" before continuing to browse where I'd intended. Some time later (maybe 1/2 hour?), my firewall popped up a message to say that Firefox was trying to access the Internet! A quick check of processes revealed "lvcomsx" still running, attempting to send who-knows-what to the Internet! This even though my Logitech cam is not even connected!
To disable permanently: Start - Run - regedit- navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Then Delete the LVCOMSX entry and close the Reg Editor.

Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time.
