Logitech File. Setup something to monitor traffic in and out of computer, along with what was causing the activity. This file, sent data about fifteen times within a 24hr period. All this, without using the camera at all, and not having it connected at all before the test.

This information definitely applies to the Logitech QuickCam driver version 8.3.0.1096 for the QuickCam Pro 4000 and may also apply to other versions. LVCOMSX.EXE is totally inessential, and certainly slows down boot times. I have removed it from my startup path and renamed it and the camera has continue to operate normally. I think that on some systems LVCOMSX.EXE actually does cause crashes and longer slowdowns. While it is not "dangerous" per se I would recommend removing it from startup and renaming it.
