MusicMatch Jukebox - not my favourite computer jukebox by any means, but useful in its way.

well this came up as a part of a long error when musicmatch jb was uninstalled and then system restore was done for a previous date
A task process mmjb.exe was blocking my IE and N browsers from the internet and even from my router (but not other access like newsreader or tracert). I killed it from the task manager and everything opened up. MORE INFO: mmjb.exe was blocked in ZA fw from the internet. When it was stopped, it blocked the browsers rather than elegantly getting out of the way. A bug IMO.
It automatically runs in list of Processes; it blocks the all access to the Internet until you "End Process" on mmjb.exe. Might be running automatically from Windows\Prefetch folder. See link below.

when I close my PC, it has to be made to close. When I open an attachment with its symbol, it iwll not open, and my PC completely locks up, and I have to use emergency measures to get it unstuck. (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) then I have to close the PC down completely before I can re open anything.

This company went of of business around 2008. If it is presenting problems with crashes or hangups, I dont see why you would not uninstall musicmatch. For me, it seems to interfere with the functioning of Internet Explorer, and it fails to shutdown on its own when I am rebooting or turning off the PCMusicmatch Jukebox - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It has been a great place to store my music , but it won't allow me to print my library, It says to get plus?/pro? but gos to Yahoo? I wld like to get plus to enable me of the print option!
It was preventing Internet Explorer from opening, but not Mozilla. It was also preventing me from shutting down my computer. I used advice on this webpage to end it with the task manager. Then Internet Explorer opened.
Was the best jukebox till Yahoo purchased. When Yahoo designed IE8 they screwed everything up, so you had to use Yahoo music player.
It stops my computer shutting down sometimes and I do not have Music Match JB installed. Win 7.

Best practices for resolving mmjb issues

A clean and tidy computer is the key requirement for avoiding problems with mmjb. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using cleanmgr and sfc /scannow, uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using msconfig) and enabling Windows' Automatic Update. Always remember to perform periodic backups, or at least to set restore points.

Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Use the resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even for serious problems, rather than reinstalling Windows, you are better off repairing of your installation or, for Windows 8 and later versions, executing the DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command. This allows you to repair the operating system without losing data.

To help you analyze the mmjb.exe process on your computer, the following programs have proven to be helpful: Security Task Manager displays all running Windows tasks, including embedded hidden processes, such as keyboard and browser monitoring or Autostart entries. A unique security risk rating indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware or a Trojan. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware detects and removes sleeping spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard drive.
