MS Webcam
I've had my microsoft lifecam for a couple yrs now, but only have the actual cam hooked up to my laptop when i'm using it - but have noticed a lot of instances lately where it keeps showing in both my processes & services as 'running' when i do not have it hooked up to my computer. I also do not have anything (pics, vids, etc) open that would be associated with it during the times it says is running. So i checked to see if it was updating anything. But it was not.. yet i see it running almost every day now in task manager. I end the process /process tree, but it keeps coming back & i don't know why it would when not in recent use. Starting to wonder if something has been accessing it without my permission.

Best practices for resolving MSCamS64 issues

A clean and tidy computer is the key requirement for avoiding problems with MSCamS64. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using cleanmgr and sfc /scannow, uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using msconfig) and enabling Windows' Automatic Update. Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Use the resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even for serious problems, rather than reinstalling Windows, you are better off repairing of your installation or, for Windows 8 and later versions, executing the DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command.
