MsgPlus.exe is not a Windows system file. The process is loaded during the Windows boot process (see Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices). MsgPlus.exe is a Verisign signed file. The file has a digital Signature. The program is not visible. MsgPlus.exe is able to record inputs, hide itself, monitor applications. There are different files with the same name:

• "CLSID" definitely not required. Adult content dialler
• "CLSID" definitely not required.
• "MessengerPlus" is not required to run at start up. MessengerPlus - third party MSN Messenger extension that adds a number of useful features. Bundles the hard to remove C2Media LOP adware. The software does offer you a choice during setup - make sure to install MessengerPlus WITHOUT that "sponsor program"!

Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as MsgPlus.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the MsgPlus.exe process on your pc whether it is pest. We recommend Security Task Manager for verifying your computer's security. Not only does it come with the 'sponsor' spyware, but also the security in the 'New' functions leaves much room for improvements. In itself it isn't really dangerous however, what it can download and run on your computer without your agreement is a big risk, especially since it's such a wideused addon.

Hatte drei Trojaner in C:\System Volume Information\-Restore TR/Dldr.Swizzor.cb durch "ad-aware" gefunden und beseitigt. Die Datei niemals mit Sponsor downloaden!!!

This file is not dangerous if you read the stuff properly and install it without the sponsor program. It gives you CLEAR instructions to agree or disagree to installing the sponsor program. I know many people just click agree and next automatically, you shouldn't for this. You should click "I disagree, install wihout the sponsor" or whatever it says.

this file itself is not dangerious but contains very dangerious SPYWARE products in at not to mention trojans etc i just installed it on my system and lots of spyware things appered one i uninstalled this it went away

More info: msgplus.exe is distributed as a third party MSN extention. However is also spyware. This process monitors your browsing habbits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analyses. This also prompts advertising popups, hides banner ads and adds archiving and other useful features. Appears not to work unless checked, but may be activated after startup. Not recommended as it includes Lop.com.This program is a registered security risk and should be remove immediatly.

Well, i've rated Messenger Plus as Dangerous not because of the software itself but because there are some websites wich have the MsgPlus320-exe download infected with the "TrojanDownloader.WIn32.Swizzor.bt ". I know cause i got one! It was Kaspersky wich caught the Trojan in file "MsgPlusSetupFile-B.tmp" before doing some damage. The strange thing is that i've downloaded the infected file from MsgPlus's home website! . So, be aware!!
