nv4_mini.sys is a component of nview.dll and enables geforce4 video display to update its drivers
The nv4_mini.sys file may be from NVIDIA, but Micro(stupid) also uploads this though their Vista updates. I have previously loaded Vista sp1 onto my machine using Vlite and everything was running smoothly until I hit told Vista to go ahead and do a few updates. Now, I don't know which one of them updated my Nvidia video driver, but I sure as heck didn't ask them to do it. All that stupid file does now is crash my system whenever I want to use Media Center. The idiots actually have seen fit to upload a file onto my system that crashes it, how genious!!! So, don't update your Vista files!!!
This is nvidia video driver file.

I get a black screen on startuo WIN XP SP2 Nvidia 5500. I checked in; C:\WINDOWS\LastGood\system32\DRIVERS and I dound this file - nv4_mini.In the LASTGOOD dolder there are 24 nvidia type files,It would seem to me that the fault is with the nvidia drivers located in C:\WINDOWS\system32 and that when prompted I select "last good config" the pc works fine. I also note that more nvidia files are located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0003\DriverFiles. OK I am a novice but is all this nvidia info files confusing my pc on startup. Thanks
