Along with other BlackIce/Proventia pieces, this program continually scans every file, every executable, everything all the time. On a dual Xeon engineering workstation, it continually slows this powerhous down so that I get frustrated every day. It's installed by my company so I can not disable it. More annoying than helpful in my opinion.

As noted, it's part of Proventia Desktop Protction and as such is an integral part of that tool. If you don't want the protection then why did you buy the software?
