Claims to speed up boot times, but it actually slows boot down.

Something attached soluto.exe to a registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon In the right pane, find the value Userinit, make sure its data is: C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe It actually appended solutu.exe to that and made it impossible to log into a guest account, or normal account. Only administrator accounts would work. This was on a brand new windows 8 computer. It is an obvious malicious trick to get one to always use administrator accounts. I just discovered why (I normally don't use that windows computer). The symptom was simply that I couldn't log in, it would start, and say "welcome", but then log off immediately. Problem solved by cleaning up that registry key, now I have to scan the hard disk for what did it.

I am in the process of removing this unwanted software. I did not authorize it to be downloaded to my laptop. Makes laptop incredibly slow and causes many unresponsive page crashes.Takes forever to delete off system- stays in the "preparing to remove" dialogue box.

Best practices for resolving Soluto issues

A clean and tidy computer is the key requirement for avoiding problems with Soluto. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using 1cleanmgr and 2sfc /scannow, 3uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using 4msconfig) and enabling Windows' 5Automatic Update. Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Use the 6resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even for serious problems, rather than reinstalling Windows, you are better off repairing of your installation or, for Windows 8 and later versions, executing the 7DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command. This allows you to repair the operating system without losing data.
