The update.sys is the driver used by Windows to update processor's microcodes, more useful with most recent processors in the need of a microcode update, obviously and above all in systems with an old BIOS which doesn't provide itself to that function, further there is a high probability of level that Windows File Protection will replace him just in case you think to remove it, furthermore if you success into removing it someway and you have an old BIOS and a recent processor your system will not boot anymore...that's it...leave it be unless an antivirus, a serious one of course, tells you bad
