User Comments

WMIsvc.dll is REQUIRED by the Windows Management Instrumentation (winmgmt) service which provides a common interface and object model to access management information about the operating system, devices, applications and services. If this service is stopped, most Windows-based software will not function properly. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start. The Windows Management Instrumentation (winmgmt) service is REQUIRED by the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service, IP Helper service, Network Connectivity Assistant service, and the Windows Security Center service. Describing WMIsvc.dll as "not essential for the Windows OS" is beyond idiotic, it's outright stupid and irresponsible.
