MMDiag is a musicmatch file. It causes a logging and tracing error message to appear, which is a nuisance; it is not dangerous, however. I deleted it from the musicmatch folder (found in program files) and this has fixed the problem with no repercussions.

Task Manager says it has caused 1.23 million page faults in the last 45 minutes. Memory usage is 224K and it gets a fair amount of CPU. Don't know what to do about it.

Removing MusicMagic Jukebox really helped the performance of my system. MMdiag.exe was a major part of slowing my machine because it does many page faults per second.

MusicMatch tracks the music you play, so it can advise on similar music you might like. On some XP systems (with Version 10) it doesn't start up properly and gives an annoying box all the time. Rename MMDiag.exe to get rid of it.

It constantly causes Musicmatch to crash. But it is a needed file. Just junk software

I deleted the file. That ended the logging and tracing error.

Was in Windows prefetch, I don't think it was original Music Match file because it was created yesterday when I visited unknown web site, was using 100% CPU, original file and update was in Music Match and was over a year old so I think it was adware loaded yesterday.

As you said MusicMatch tracking, I just deleted it. Now everything works...Thanks

If you use Musicmatch Jukebox, keep this file. I've had it forever, and my system works fine. It does not eat up my memory, cause me error messages, page faults, or the disabling of the Jukebox. If you know you're not going to be using MMJ, open Task Manager, and end it's process (until system restart). Might as well end mim.exe, too since they go hand-in-hand. Or, you could uninstall the Jukebox in Add or Remove Programs.

Renamed mmdiag.exe that seems to have fixed the problem. MM opens fast and no error message

It worked fine for 2 years, now it page faults constantly - 2.5 million page faults so far today. It works on some systems, bad on other. I deleted it and musicmatch works fine.

can be troublesome, mine completed 17,000,000 page faults in 12 hours. I delete the file and musicmatch is fine.
