Slows the pc down dreadfully and on start up will not allow access to server to retreive email. I'm going to go with a different Spam killer. This 'new enhancemant' is so much worse than its predecessor...I end up doing all the work!

If you are having problems with the MSKSrvr.exe file taking up CPU usage, you may go to the task manager window, click on processes, highlight the MSKS file and end the process. The CPU usage will decrease immediately.

CPU-Auslastung seit 2 Tagen (Neuinstallation XP + McAfee zu 100 %; PC sehr langsam obwohl Pentium 4; 3,2 Gigahertz; DELL (Dimension) empfiehlt McAfee und liefert es mit!! Problem trat erst ab Ersatz defekter FP Maxtor und Neuinstallation XP und McAfee auf !!

I am runing it with Windows XP. It caused my computer to run flat out. Ishut it down and emtied out the folders with .eml files in them. But why do these folders exist? They do nothing except cause this provlem. McAfee should delete them from the program - or else make the program empty them when they have say 50 files in them.

I've been using McAfee for a year with no problem. All of a sudden, MSKSrvr.exe is using all my CPU memory. Runs at 98-100% most of the time. McAfee has NOTHING on their website. I'm going to uninstall the program. I don't get any spam anyway.

Part of McAfee SecuritySuite. After several months takes up 98% of CPU usage, grinding computer to Commodore 64 speed. LOL. Set up SecuritySuite and disable the Spamkiller option. Automatically releases the 98%CPU usage

This is not normal. Even on a dual processor I cannot access my mail after downloading. Blocks the spam but need it require so much processor after the action is complete? I suspect a memory leak or run away process.

MSKSrvr.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files" - common is C:\Program Files\McAfee\SpamKiller\. The process McAfee SpamKiller Server belongs to the software McAfee SpamKiller by Networks Associates Technology, Inc (vil.nai.com) or McAfee, Inc.

Contacted McAfee Tech Support are this issue, they seemed unaware of the problem and had no solution. Am installing Norton Antivirus as I write this and will uninstall McAfee ASAP. BTW - Norton down load it taking FOREVER due to CPU issue.

had mcafee for 8 months, not impressed now this MSKSRVR.EXE has utterly screwed the comp, running my 2g or ram down to 2-10mb. Not only that but there is no way to uninstall the suite this sucks big time, have to end it in task manager

This file is not a security risk. I would bet the recent spike in CPU usage for thousands of users would trace back to an UPDATE. Yes, your mcaffe suite updates itself, and communicates with mcafee servers constantly. One of the more recent updates most likely causes problems with certain system/harware/os/software combinations. The only cure is to flood mcafee with complaints, since we are all playing for this service/software.

Runs a little ragged

MSKSrvr.exe is part of McAfee’s SpamKiller and started using up to 99% of my CPU, slowing my computer down enormously. The only solution I found was to uninstall it and rely on my internet e-mail’s spam protector instead. Everything now works fine!

This is a disaster. I was sure I had a virus or spyware- slowed to a halt. spent endless hours cleaning up,de-frag , bought system mechanic -CPU still running close to 100%. Finally (doh) looked in task manager and found it !

My god all the McAfee Process chew alot of resorcess. I got a 3.46Ghz with 4GB of DDR-2 and its running like a Comador-64. I don't know what the heck McAfee was thinking when they desided to make this but I got like 6 Proccess in taskmanaer in XP Pro just dedicated to McAfee. I am starting to get fustrated and very anoyed because I am a programer and I hate it when proccess hog my CPU power. ALl the Proccess of McAfee use HUGE resorcess and alot of Mem.... While norton uses like 2 or so but the Pulse updates are sickly anoying as well so again what do we use to protect our PC's....
