Under Administrative Tools/Services, "WMDM PMSP Service" had no description where as all others did. Is this indicative of the virus form? It also likes to access my floppy drive, even without a disk in there.

Microsoft DRM. However, there is a trojan which goes by "mspmspv.exe" [note the 'pv' instead of 'psv'], the Chum-A trojan.

i m sure it use my network connection. i have some problems my multiplayer games and i remove this file and solve the problem. it definitely spyware.

After some in-depth analysis about why my Pc kept freezing (and needed to be switched on and off) with the Error code MACHINE CHECK : Regs, I found that each time it occured this damn service had just started. Consider it well and truely disabled !

it is complete crap it effects nothing it causes crashes, if you have a computer running on anything newer then 98se then get rid of it! its not spyware technicly but it is a way to find un registerd media, so to protect yourself disable it in services and uninstall wmp7 use nero showtimewindows media is only good for porn so u realize it must suck

The Microsoft Security update KB917734 is supposed to cure a security issue related to the Windows Media Player and the program mspmspsv.exe. Unfortunately, the installation of the update gets stuck.
