If located in C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 it is part of the MS.net Framework Application. I just installed an update and this file requested internet access immediately after installation

Run Once follwing reboot after I installed .NET 1.1 security update 1. Looks like a key Microsoft component on the .NET 1.1 framework. Presumably not present if you went straight to .NET 2 or .NET 3

It's preventing my computer from entering standby mode, and it didn't show up until after I updated .NET via Automatic Update. I really don't think it's a necessary file.

You can disable this process. But you may need it to work with MS Visual Studio 2005.

If you're getting an error that says something like "Microsoft .NET framwork update v1.1.4322 is preventing your system from entering standby", stopping this process solves the problem and doesn't seem to mess up the computer any.

Found this to be not only a piece of spyware, but virus scanner disabler. I run Avast Anti-Virus and I noticed, that about 3 days after this thing kept plaguing me, my on access scanner quit working. Had to uninstall Avast, run Combo-fix to get rid of it and then reinstall Avast. This is a nasty little virus and very hard to get rid of.

I myself had this particular file pop up after installing net framework as a part of some game. I tracked the file to Windows\microsoft.net\Framework and ran a scan there with AVG, it turned out empty so I went ahead and installed it. The net framework seemed to be working so it probably isn't all that important. No hiccups as of yet

I received the same prompt as everyone else after a Microsoft Net.framework update. I installed the program. I ran a virus scan, I ran a Microsoft Malicious Software Tool Removal scan, I ran Spybot, and everyone of these tools came up with nothing negative. I have had no problem with the install.
