You get a winupd.dll error whenever you open a file or application. It also gives you "memory module can be read" error message. Removing the Win tools folder from the Program Files\Common Files directory removes all of the error messages.Removing the Win tools folder from the C:\Program Files\Common Files directory removes all of the error messages.

Although it is continuous annoyance yet easily removable. Restart System in Safe mode (by pressing F8 key when system restars). Start Explorer and make sure that IE is not running. go to win tools folder which resides in c:\program files\common files. set the option to show the hidden files, then select all files in "win tools" folder and delete. All done. Restart the system.

Ad-aware will get rid of it, but it can be a pain. Do a full system scan, and remove everything it finds, when it says some items cannot be removed, click yes to remove them after the next restart. If that doesn't do it, make a note of which exe files it couldn't remove, open windows task manager, and end each of the processes that adaware could remove. run a full system scan in adaware again, and you should be clean... took maybe 20 minutes of my time, but it is a sneaky critter and gave me a run for it.
