MpfTray.exe is not a virus, trojan, it's a minor problem that Mcafee are currently having. It's simply a matter of the McAfee Firewall icon on the task bar not loading up correctly after a computer restart. McAfee are aware of this problem and there engineers are trying to rectify the error.

MpfTray.exe IS the firewall. If you disable the firewall, the exe disappears. It was using 100% of my processor, so I disabled the firewall. It's annoying - does anyone know how to fix it?
Mcafee personal firewall tray. Mcafee has tonnes of issues. Uninstall it.

MpfTray is part of McAfee Personal Firewall. This is not a threat. I work for a Helpdesk which takes various McAfee calls. This call has come up many times and it simply needs to be restarted.

I got rid of McAfee 6 months ago and I am still getting this error message! I can't seem to get rid of it and it is driving me crazy!
It uses 100% of my cpu and therefore even answering e mail becomes a chore. Yes, my machine is old but only five years. It's frustrating
It only does this sometimes on startup.
