We received an update from Hewlett Packard on our other computer (Compac) and downloaded it. What a mistake!!! The browser hardly moves and now I can't get any website to load, it comes up timed out! I did a virues scan and apparently it found adware *MultiDropper-DU* with the download.
updates some HP Sofware (eg. HP Printer)
I had something similar happen to me as Diane. I (ahem) upgraded to a newer HP driver for my OfficeJet, and now when I try to change the print Properties (e.g., change paper size or switch between B&W and color), the system hangs. If I do this when not connected to a LAN/WAN, I can access this with no problem. I think this HPWuSchd.exe is the culprit, or whatever is loading this file is. The HP tech was no help to me at all...he just sent me a link to show how to install a network printer (!!!).
This is a valid program but it is not required to run on startup.
constantly dicks the hard drive & network -- prevents laptop drive shutdown thereby hogging power. Apparently related to HP 4215 printer drivers. not required for function of printer. EXE file has some other name.

Required scheduler for HP printers to keep updates for best possible driver configurations
Right click the process and go to the root folder. Running "config.htm" will open a page with updating settings. Check never and be done with it.

Typical useless clutter
The HP printer drivers, particularly the update features, are incredibly annoying. They interrupt the user with pointless crashes and Windows 7 security/update requests and I suspect significantly slow boot and shutdown. Despite years of persistent crashes and nonsense, no useful updates from HP have come through. I'm removing it.
