It was installed on my PC as part of Extensis Portfolio 8. I have Zone Alarm installed so it has to ask permission to connect to the internet and until I know what it does I won't let it. Well, I just installed my new Kodak camera + software, and there it was. The software is called easy share from Kodak. This file appeared after I did a install of Adobe Photoshop CS3. It tries to connect to several IPs during uptime.It does not eat up memory on my rig but it might do on yours. From what I have seen and read about this service. It tries to "phone home" to a certain company to tell them that this and that application has been installed on the computer. Ninjaaaaah 5k
after I managed to delete it in safe mode with command promting, my browser (firefox) have lost all the settings: themes, extensions. In conclusion I think that's not ok at all! And that in the presence or ZoneAlarm and Nod32. My recommandation: delete it as soos as you can!! adrian

Well I read the entire post and the only App I have installed is the bonjour App Which I never manually installed so I am not sure where it came from but I do notice it causes conflicts with the uTorrent App I am running. It causes my download and upload rates to fluxuate uncontrolably ! Head1st

Ich hatte "Bonjour" mit gestrigem Zeitstempel auf meinem System, obwohl ich überhaupt nichts installiert habe. Da tarnt sich wohl ein Trojaner. G-Data hat auf seine Existenz aufmerksam gemacht, der wollt die Firewallregel ändrn, hab dies "Bonjour" sofort "kaserniert, eingeäschert und vorsichtshaber noch ne Neutronenbombe drauf geschmissen" da iss nix mehr von übrig ... ich leg mich wieder hin. Was Sie bei mDNSResponder Problemen tun können
Ein aufgeräumter Computer ist die beste Voraussetzung, um mDNSResponder Probleme zu vermeiden. Hierzu sollten Sie einen Virus-Scan durchführen, Ihre Festplatte aufräumen (mit 1cleanmgr und 2sfc /scannow), nicht mehr benötigte 3Programme deinstallieren, Autostart Programme überprüfen (mittels 4msconfig) und 5Windows Updates automatisch installieren. Denken Sie immer daran ein Backup oder zumindest einen Wiederherstellungspunkt zu erstellen.
Bei einem konkreten Problem überlegen Sie bitte, was Sie als letztes getan bzw. installiert haben, bevor das Problem das erste Mal auftrat. Nutzen Sie den Befehl 6resmon, um diejenigen Prozesse zu ermitteln, die Ihr Problem verursachen. Selbst bei schwerwiegenden Problemen sollten Sie anstatt einer Windows-Neuinstallation lieber eine Reparaturinstallation oder den Befehl 7DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth ausführen. Damit wird das Betriebssystem ohne Datenverlust repariert.
Damit Ihr Computer wieder so schnell wie am ersten Tag läuft, können Sie Ihren 8PC zurücksetzen. Dabei bleiben Ihre persönlichen Dateien erhalten. Jedoch müssen von Ihnen installierte Programme neu installiert werden.
Zur weiteren Analyse haben sich folgende Programme als nützlich herausgestellt: Der ASecurity Task Manager untersucht den aktiven mDNSResponder Prozess auf Ihrem Computer und zeigt anschaulich was der Prozess macht. Eine gute BAntivirus Software erkennt, ob die Datei 'mDNSResponder.exe' auf Ihrem PC eventuell ein Schädling ist und Ihren PC ausbremst. Solche unerwünschten Programme werden oft von anderer Antivirus Software nicht als Virus eingestuft und deshalb nicht entdeckt.
