DecodeProcess.exe is used by iVMS-4200. Developer is HIKvision China. It is essential for this program to run. But can be using a lot of cpu, and slow down other processes. DecodeProcess.exe terminates when iVMS-4200 exits. http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/ https://us.hikvision.com/en

This comes with the Hikvision CCTV remote access/ viewing software IVMS-4200. It gobbles up CPU on my desktop PC (30% to 50%) but not my laptop (5% as I look at it now). I need to try and investigate and try and see if there is a differenec in configuration.

I found that there is a later version of this package than the one I was running on my PC which was IVMS-4200 3.1.1. I have just installed IVMS-4200 V3.4.0e. The decode process.exe CPU has now dropped from 30% to around 7%. I am monitoring 8 CCTV cameras. https://www.hikvision.com/en/support/download/software/ivms4200-series/

Is a secondary process spawned by IVMS-4200. Required for decoding video streams by the camera software. Not necessary for windows, but is absolutely required for IVMS. If you have IVMS this is not dangerous.

You probably came here because this is eating up your CPU; if so, it's time to update your Camera system. IVMS is not easy on the CPU when it wants to be updated.
