What is DSAService.exe?

DSAService.exe is an executable file that is part of the Intel Driver & Support Assistant software. This software is developed by Intel Corporation and is typically located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Driver and Support Assistant directory.

The Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA) is a utility tool designed to help you manage the drivers and software updates on your computer. It automatically checks for the latest drivers for your Intel components and installs them, ensuring that your system is always up-to-date and running optimally.

DSAService.exe is needed as it is the main executable for the Intel DSA. It is responsible for scanning your system for Intel components and checking for updates. Without it, the Intel DSA would not function correctly. Keeping your drivers updated can improve system performance, fix bugs, and enable new features.

While DSAService.exe is generally safe and useful for keeping your Intel drivers updated, there may be reasons to remove it. If it's causing system issues, using too much CPU or memory resources, or if you prefer to manually manage your drivers, you might choose to uninstall the Intel DSA. Removing DSAService.exe or the Intel DSA should be done with caution, as it could lead to driver-related issues.

On mini pc (acepc ak1) kept taking 70%+ CPU usage. It wasn't spyware, I just thought it would keep my drivers up to date. Instead it kept sporatically taking up all my cpu. The mini pc only has a intel 500 gpu, so I just unistalled it and it went away. Just back software in my opinion - if I had a better cpu it would have been less noticeable but still is a waste in my opinion.

Randomly takes up 70% cpu on startup i5-10400, uninstalled it and just check drivers as needed.

DSAService is legit app from Intel to update Intel softwares but peaks CPU to 100% every couple minutes. There's no reason why this service should be doing this. I trust Intel but I uninstalled their app. It's not essential and it's not dangerous. Specs: Intel Core i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00GHZ and 16GO DDR4

Intel Driver Updater ... Absolute annoying if it runs every few seconds with 100% cpu usage. Pushes down every other process up to a falldown to 2 fps inside low-spec-games ... its absolute annoying. disabled both services of intel driver update and if i want to update my drivers, i decide it myself. _
