This service appears to be crashing very regularly and when it does so it takes focus away from the window I am working in. It is very frustrating when I am typing. I only found out about it because I was copying something when it happened, and the clipboard contained "[Window Title] esif_assist_64.exe [Main Instruction] esif_assist_64.exe has stopped working [Content] Windows is checking for a solution to the problem... [Cancel]" I have stopped the service to prevent this.

Its part of intel dynamic platform and thermal framework. Make sure its digitally signed by intel and microsoft or one of them. Problems related with the files, contact intel or update drivers.
