What is IEOOP.exe?
The genuine IEOOP.exe file is a software component of IBM Notes Integrated Browser by IBM.
Client PCs in the IBM Notes enterprise e-mail and collaboration system can use an Integrated Browser or an external one. The Integrated Browser depends on IEOOP.exe for its ability to access the Internet so this module may trigger firewall alerts and it must be allowed to access the network. Configuring the client firewall to suppress alerts may prevent proper operation of the Integrated Browser. In Notes 8.0.1 and later such alerts may occur even if the client is set to use an external browser because the Widgets facility may use the IEOOP task also. Because the Client side of Notes is now, (since 8.0), the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE), written in Java, plus IEOOP.exe and other plug-ins, installation consists of unzipping a file to form a folder and to uninstall means to simply delete that folder. IBM was formed from several smaller companies in 1911 by its founder, Thomas Watson, and took its current name from a Canadian subsidiary in 1924. It continues to shift its focus away from manufacturing towards enterprise solutions and cloud computing.
