It's for recording clips while gaming.

Medal.exe is a recording app by Medal.tv and is safe to use. Medal only listens to keystrokes for hotkeys that you specify in order to save a video clip for you. It does the same thing for your mouse input and game controller input that you configure in the Medal.tv app. This page describes; "The program is not visible" but this is only partially correct. The Medal.exe listed here is a single process of an electron application, which utilizes chromium and inherently uses chromiums multi-process architecture. The application does have visible windows that you interact with. Medal is able to monitor applications to see what game you are playing so that it can automatically record. It only monitors for processes relevant to ensuring you have an optimal recording experience.
