What is mouclass?

The genuine mouclass.sys file is a software component of Microsoft Windows Operating System by .
"Mouclass.sys", located in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers", is the Microsoft Windows Mouse Class Driver for non-HID mice, generally meaning PS/2 (non-USB) mice because the Human Interface Device standard is part of the USB standard. Windows has used the Class Driver approach for non-HID mice since Windows 2000. "Mouclass.sys" can handle multiple mouse devices on the same computer, either in "one-on-one" mode where each device has its own stack, or in "grandmaster mode" where the driver creates a single "grandmaster" filter device object (DO) and a subordinate DO for each device. If the registry key "HKLM\Services\CurrentControlSet\mouclass\Parameters" is "0x00", it uses the latter.

mouclass.sys is the system IRP (I/O request packet) for the mouse class driver. It is the "on/off" switch in boot up for your mouse. Meaning if you delete this.sys on your computer your mouse will have trouble working. There are viruses built to attack this file in the registry, however the file itself is not a virus.
