After seeing the comment about the product update being connected to the Fremaker I used Revo Unistaller with the advanced tab and the said process was turned off on time, so in my case it was Fremaker.

c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Freemake Shared\ProductUpdater\ProductUpdater.exe It does seem to be part of Freemake software; in my case I have installed the audio converter.

ProductUpdater.exe 1. Does not turn up at all when searching for it with Windows search facility. 2. It promises to look for a solution online to the problem "ProductUpdater has stopped working" but does nothing at all when you go online. 3. It bugs you whenever you switch on your computer. So there's something fishy about it.

Tskmgr shows the process is active - right click choose properties, and it will show you the exact time and date it came on board...in my case, I had installed "FreemakeVideoDownloader" exact same time/date.
