Anything that ends up in your c:\windows\temp folder is malware type virus! I had to go to an admin DOS prompt, do a copy con cpuz143_x64.bak Ctrl-Z to create an empty file. Use msconfig to reboot into safe mode. Note you can delete in safe mode. However, it pops back up when you reboot. Simply delete the sys file and rename the .bak file to .sys. Then do an attrib cupz143_x64.sys +R to make it read-only. You have just created an empty sys file that can't be overwritten. How do I know this is malware, because my system reports someone else is logged onto it! Trouble is I can't find the processes associated with it. Still looking.

That thing still pops up in the temp folder and there seems to be no way to track whats associated with it.

If Microsoft put something in a temp folder they should know not to put it there permanently that's why it's called temp . It also reads stalls itself in the users folder if it's blocked in the windows folder. Extremely virus-like plus if you look up the file name it closely resembles a company that runs CPU diagnostics which has crashed my computer so lots of luck

On my Win 10 pro system it seems that cpuz143_x64.sys is CPUID's System Monitoring Kit. http://www.cpuid-pro.com/products-system-monitoring-kit.php It is installed by Piriform/ccleaner SPECCY when you set Speccy to monitor system temperatures. It may well be installed by other monitoring software that uses the same kit, licensed from Piriform.

Advanced SystemCare plants this file in the c:\windows\temp folder in a very sneaky way! The file is 11 years old!! On the axis of PUP - Malware, I would put it as 90+% Malware. To remove it, uninstall Advanced SystemCare and use MalwareBytes to expunge the leftovers! Or you can just leave it there as a backdoor into your system!

For me this file is linked to iCue, a software that I use for my Corsair keyboard and other devices. But yes, it is in my temp files and can not be deleted. Once I uninstalled iCue software, I got rid of that file in my temp files. But then downloading iCue again made it appear in my temp files again. So for now I do not have iCue and am without surround sound on my Corsair headphones. Not gonna buy Corsair devices again, I will rather get something which does not require software to run, what a joke.

I can confirm Michael M's comment that cpuz143_x64.sys is installed in my user temp folder by the Piriform routine Speccy. It is removed in my case when Speccy is closed. Having used several Piriform programs for many years, I would not consider this driver dangerous.
