All I know is that it is part of the ASUS AI Suite III that I installed with my new motherboard. Everything I've read is people saying it is causing errors, as I have witnessed. I'm going to try it on a clean Windows install and see if that helps. Path to DipAwayMode.exe is: C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AI Suite III\DIP4\DIPAwayMode

Came with AI Suite. Has shown error messages but nothing catastrophic

Seems it has to do with the EPU setting. On my Asus mb I have "performance", "standard" and "Away mode", which I can switch to either one from the desktop. When I end taked the DipAwayMode, it was not available in the EPU choices. It puts the computer to sleep which can be done from elsewhere in Windows.

DipAwayMode.exe ran without problems on my PC from 2013 until recently. Asus AI Suite II, Windows 10 up to date and Asus Z87-A motherboard began causing windows to blue screen and shut down. When looking at the log errors upon restarting, dipawaymode.exe was the culprit every time until I removed Asus AI Suite II. The controls are fun to have from the Suite, but I recommend blowing it away if your BSoD critical errors start being logged as dipawaymode.exe It isn't dangerous like a virus, just to your systems health in regards to BSoD.

Just get rid of AI Suite III if you don't use any of it's features

Very little except it was added with the installation of my ASUS Prime X570-P MB. ASUS "seems" to think it is "helpful" but----------- on a desktop?
