Teamviewer allows people people to connect to other computers, such as a meeting or something. It could be dangerous if anyone gives you their password to the program

As far as I know the process insn't needed in any way. I'm pretty sure it just helps TeamViewer to start some Seconds faster. The TeamViewer developers once told me that this is a very important process which needs to run all the time, but they didnt wanted to tell me why exactly... My suggestion: Kill the service (the process isn't killable under normal circumstances, which is kind of suspicious if you ask me). I don't rate this process as dangerous, but it has huge potential to be dangerous, it is even able to communicate using the internet (to check for updates? We don't know).

Just set the service to manual in the windows service control. I dont like software running in the background for no good reason, especially without being told about it by the installer!

TeamViewer4_Service.exe start's always, occupy ~10Mb from RAM and wait. It's protected (like viruses and worms protect themselves) - once killed, tkis process start himself again, immediatey. When TeamViewer8 programm is launched, TeamViewer4_Service.exe process incerease their size to 11~12Mb from RAM, its strange: TeamViewer himself take only 3 Mb from RAM , so WHY TeamViewer4_Service.exe take 4 times more space in operative memory?! Possible, it's backdoor from dewelopers, but we can't get access to this part of software. So, there is potentional problem. Safe - while waits.

I use this program to connect to, and control one of my other computers that is out in the observatory. That computer is in charge of controlling the telescope movement and cameras among multiple other tasks. I choose to use TeamViewer instead of Windows Remote Desktop because it has better features, one being it supports sound. I use TeamViewer to connect computers on the same network here at the house.

Remote Access Software, perfectly ok unless you give out the password to your pc.

I found a log file that TeamViewer generated showing evidence that it scans your network. On one client's system, it even showed that it found a Firestick.

Team viewer service needs to run on remote machine for unattended access! If unattended access is not necessary, you can stop and disable the service!
